Can you cure anxiety without medication?

Anxiety and overwhelm can be triggered by many things – a traumatic event in the past, certain situations, or even a sight, sound or smell.

But how we process it can make all the difference as to whether those triggers continue to make us feel the same way.

Many people are prescribed antidepressants as a way of coping, but while they can help to take the edge off, medication won’t deal with what is causing you to feel anxious.

Counselling can give you strength…

Our mind is very powerful but can be like an untrained puppy. We need to be in charge of it, making sure our minds are working for and not against us.

Medication can change our state of mind, but it often comes with side effects, and symptoms can return once you stop taking it.

A counsellor can help you find the answers to your problems, allowing you the time to express how you feel without judgement.

The aim of a counsellor is to make you feel better and to arm you with tools you can use in the future to break the cycle and stop it from happening again.

…but what types of counselling help with anxiety?

There is a lot of crossover between different types of therapy and many have elements belonging to another.

One of the most common types of counselling offered for anxiety is a talking therapy called cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which helps to change the way you think and feel.

CBT breaks your current problems down into smaller parts and teaches you how to change these negative thought patterns to improve your state of mind.

It usually comes as a course of treatment over weeks, months or even years.

Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is another type of counselling which goes into your past to understand the cause of your anxiety. By treating the root cause, RTT enables you to achieve dramatic and long-lasting results . It is also much faster than CBT and just one session can yield good results.

RTT implants positive and encouraging words into your psyche while helping to free negative thoughts and suppressed emotions.

Kelly’s story about how rapid transformational therapy (RTT) helped her win the battle against anxiety

Whenever I start something new, I feel overwhelmed and tell myself that I can’t do it. My stomach tightens and I say things like: ‘Who do you think you are?’, I also feel sick and nervous.

“I knew that low self-esteem and confidence was holding me back in my career as a journalist and writer.

After only one RTT session with Lynda, I now feel confident, relaxed and empowered in my ability and whenever I feel the need, I now listen to my wonderful personal recording to put me back on track.

Lynda, you are a phenomenal therapist and every single one of your clients is going to be so lucky to have you.
